TURKEY WILL CONTINUE WINNING WITH AK PARTY

AK Party Department of Foreign Affairs realized its 7th regional education meeting in Siirt on the 5th of April with the participants from Batman, Hakkari, Bitlis, Mus, Sirnak and Van.

Mr. Egemen Bagis, AK Party Vice Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs and MP representing Istanbul, Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, AK Party Foreign Affairs Department Coordinator Vice Chairman and MP representing Antalya, Ms. Canan Kalsin, AK Party Foreign Affairs Department Vice Chairman and MP representing Istanbul informed the participants from grassroots organizations on different subjects like EU, USA, Middle East, Cyprus and Turkish World. Mr. Afif Demirkiran and Mr. Yilmaz Helvacioglu, MPs representing Siirt, Mr.Cemal Tasar and Mr. Vahid Kiler MPs representing Bitlis, Mr. Abdulmuttalip Ozbek MP representing Hakkari, along with AK Party District Chairmen of these cities, mayors and many party members attended the meeting too.

K Party Vice Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs Mr. Egemen Bagis held a speech where he said "They have told that the relations with the EU have slowed down. There is no such thing on our side. The EU can't catch-up with us."

Mr. Bagis also called attention to Turkey's progress trend and continued "Before I was born in 1963 it [EU] was a fairy tale. But we realized this fairy tale. On 2004, we started the negotiations. They say that the relations with the EU have slowed down. There is no such thing on our side. The EU can't catch up with us. They made up an absorption capacity problem. They want us to slow down. EU is Turkey's dietician. Copenhagen and Maastricht criteria are also Turkey's dieticians. The negotiations will end. There is no country that didn't end it. Some countries became members directly after the negotiations ended, some have waited a little. Norway and Island didn't become members although they have finished the negotiation process. We have to wait for that day to decide. Let us move Turkey to the EU criteria point, and then decide. We will improve the welfare standards of Turkish people to the point they deserve. Nobody should have any doubts on this."

Mr. Bagis also added that the previous governments made Turkey a country that had base relations with its neighbors and the world, but now the situation has changed and Turkey has very good relations with the neighboring countries.

About the closure case of AK Party, as our Prime Minister said "We are ready to lose if Turkey would win, but Turkey has won domestically and internationally with AK Party, it will continue doing so. AK Party will continue with the leadership of our Prime Minister Erdogan to make Turkey a more developed and a more democratic country."

Mr. Bagis also addressed the main opposition leader Deniz Baykal and said "I want to call upon the leader of the main opposition party's leader who has been sentenced to lifelong opposition in the hearts of Turkish people, who can't be changed and can't even be suggested to be changed. You will become 70 years old soon; you shouldn't darken Turkey's future. Don't put us through a new crisis, while everything is going so fine in Turkey don't create an economic crisis and problems."
