"IT IS AN HONOR TO BE ON THAT LIST"
Having been demanded a political ban in the indictment for the closure case filed against AK Party by Chief Prosecutor of Court of Appeals, AK Party Vice-Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs Egemen Bagis said, "To be on a list in which Hon. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other friends are involved is an honor."
Egemen Bagis, for whom the Chief Prosecutor demanded a political ban in the indictment for the closure case filed against AK Party commented to the press members at the welcome dinner for an international workshop held by the AK Party Department of Foreign Affairs, "Cost of Conflict in the Middle East"
AK Party Vice-Chairman mentioned that "This is a deliberate act to the 16.5 million people, or % 47 of Turkey, one out of every two Turkish electorates who voted for the AK Party. We have experienced similar cases before in Turkey. However, Turkey is now that a country that has started the negotiations with the EU, that has succeeded to elect a Turkish Secretary General to the Organization fort the Islamic Conference, that has good relations with both the East and West. It is not such an odd country alone in mid-ocean. Turkey is a gateway for Europe, Asia, Middle East and Caucasians. What is happening in Turkey closely concerns the whole world and the world is actually following the developments here in Turkey. We'll continue to solve the problems of Turkey as we have been doing before. We have a motto: "No stopping, keep going". We'll keep going in order to solve the problems of our country."
Bagis answered a question about the political bans demanded in the indictment for the closure case "To be on a list in which Hon. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other friends involved is an honor. I do not take offense on this. I just feel proud to be with my friends with whom we stand shoulder to shoulder in order for the well being of my country, for increasing its wealth, and for ripening our democratic standards"
