1. FORUM OF THE ALLIANCE OF THE CIVILIZATIONS TAKES PLACE IN SPAIN

Initiated by the United Nations and co-chaired by Turkey and Spain, the first Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations took place in Madrid on January 13th through 16th. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was accompanied his wife Mrs. Emine Erdogan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Babacan, Minister of Transportation Mr. Binali Yildirim, Minister of Industry and Commerce Mr. Zafer Caglayan, Minister of State Mr. Mehmet Aydin and AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis.

During the Forum, underlining the contributions made by Turkey to world peace, Erdogan also mentioned of precautions that may be taken with Spain for the international terror that Spain has and continues to struggle with. Outside of the Forum contacts were made to assist the strengthening of the economic and commercial ties between Spain and Turkey.
