AK PARTY FOREIGN AFFAIRS REGIONAL SEMINARS BEGIN
AK Party Foreign Affairs Department's first regional meeting took place on the 15th of December 2007 in Mersin led by Mr. Egemen Bagis, AK Party Vice Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs. AK Party MPs from Adana; Mr. Necdet Unuvar and Mr. Vahit Kirisci, Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, MP from Antalya and Coordinator Vice Chairman of AK Party Department of Foreign Affairs as well as city and province organizations' members of Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaras, Kilis, Mersin and Osmaniye came together during the meeting. Mr. Bagis and Mr. Cavusoglu gave speeches on "AK Party's Foreign Policy and its improvements on Turkish Foreign Policy" during the meeting which took place in Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.AK Party Vice Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs Mr. Bagis underlined that AK Party, which has started the negotiations for the full membership with the EU, will also be the party which will make Turkey gain the full member status. Bagis also stated that AK Party government has made Turkey a competent country in the world with its political, economical and foreign policy improvements since it came to power. Mr. Bagis stated that our relations have improved with the neighboring countries with which any small happening could evoke ‘war' before AK Party's governance. Also that Turkey is becoming rapidly an energy corridor.
Following Mr. Bagis, Mr. Cavusoglu also made a speech where he summarized the Turkish policy for Cyprus and as a result, the developments in Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic.
