YOUNG TRANSLATORS CONTEST 2011 BY THE MINISTRY FOR EUROPEAN UNION AFFAIRS
The second Young Translators Contest which was organized by the Ministry for EU Affairs was held at the Princess Hotel in Ortaköy. After the contest, certificates of attendance were given to the students by the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis.
In his speech during the ceremony, stating that he would like to celebrate all the students participating in the contest, Bagis said that the participants expressed their sincere feelings to be a part of the EU accession process and to contribute to this process.
Reminding that the origin of the EU integration signifies the collaboration of the countries in order to share the same feelings rather than speaking the same language, Bagis said:
“In fact, we are witnessing that those who do not speak the same language and even strive to sabotage the shared feelings are trying to spoil this major integration. We see that they exploit Turkey’s EU accession process to achieve their aims. Nevertheless, Turkey does not fall into their trap and continues to ruin their plans by means of the language of love, Turkish. Turkey responds to those who speak hatefully through the common language of peace, love and humanity and favors morality”.
