HURRIYET AND TURKEY-US CAUCUS ORGANISE A JOINT LETTER CAMPAIGN

With the collaboration of "Hürriyet" and the Turkey-USA Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Caucus, a joint campaign was started against the "so-called Armenian Genocide" which is expected to be brought to the agenda of the US Congress. Within the framework of the Campaign, it was stated that history should be reviewed by historians instead of parliaments and it was added that Turkey still expects a reply from her call to the related parties.

The letter prepared by Egemen Bagis was published on the web site of Hurriyet Newspaper where over half million readers electronically transmitted the letter to US Senators and Congressmen.

The Chairman of the Turkey-USA Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Caucus Egemen Bagis expressed that by means of the campaign they were also including the efforts of the Turkish citizens to the high level contacts in the US and thus wishing continue to their attempts to prevent the approval of the draft resolution. Bagis added his great appreciations to "Hurriyet" for its support.
