BAGIS RECEIVES THE FOREIGN ECONOMIC RELATIONS BOARD

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis received Rona Yircali, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Foreign Economic Relations Board and an accompanying delegation.

In his speech he delivered in the reception held in the Ministry of EU Affairs, Bagis pointed out the situation achieved in Turkey-EU relations and continued as follows: "Political problems arising from the financial crisis in Europe seems to block Turkey's negotiation process. However, as our ancestor said, the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn. Today there is a great opportunity before the Europeans to see the potential of Turkey."

Pointing out Turkey's economic growth rate, its young population and its democratization process, Bagis suggested that there was a great opportunity to show Turkey's power and they would be in cooperation with DEIK in this respect.

Egemen Bagis stated that they would encourage the meetings to be held in various EU countries to indicate Turkey's potential.
