TURKEY, ITS ARMY AND ITS GOVERNMENT ARE ALL UNITED

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: "Nobody can sow discord among the state, the nation and the army in Turkey. Turkey, its army and its government are all united".

Participating in the Third Ordinary Congress of the Justice and Development Party's Youth Branches from Umraniye Municipality in Istanbul, Bagis said:

"There are still people who feel uncomfortable with the fact that democracy has strengthened in Turkey. Do not let anyone create trouble. There is not another nation in the world which calls its army as "the society of the Prophet" like us. Also, there is not another nation like us which calls its soldiers by the name of its Prophet or as "Mehmetcik". It is no use for anyone trying to sow discord or create trouble among the state, the nation and the army since Turkey, this army and this government belong to all of us. We will protect this country altogether. We will safeguard our democracy. Our people are ready to perform their duty. Our move for development will also accelerate".

Stating that Turkey had become the fastest growing economy of the world despite the wars among its neighboring countries and agitators within, Bagis said that Turkey had turned into a country acting as a center for stability and development through its region rather than a very touchy country.

Reporting that the people of Turkey would have higher standard of living than the ones in Germany, France and the Netherlands, Bagis said: "Some people have sermonized by the words of Ataturk for ages. They have gone on holiday while saying they follow in Ataturk's footsteps. We have had the opportunity of realizing Ataturk's dreams and goals. They have been sermonizing; however, we have served to achieve his goal of reaching the levels of contemporary civilizations".
