    ISTANBUL 2010 REMARKABLY SUPPORTS OUR EU BID

    Receiving the members of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Advisory Board and Executive Board, Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, expressed at the press conference that Istanbul 2010 had remarkably supported the EU Accession Process.

    Minister Egemen Bagis thanked Istanbul 2010 team at the meeting held at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs' Ortakoy Office and continued his words as follows: "9677 activities of which we are all proud, Istanbul, being spoken of all over the world during the whole year, promotion of Turkey, millions of new tourists, lots of infrastructure projects, lots of new facilities. When compared to the other cultural capitals of Europe, I believe that Istanbul 2010 is the title of a cultural capital probably used in the best way.

    Stating that Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency had both achieved lots of lasting gains and made a lasting impression, Minister Bagis said "Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency has supported the EU Accession Process significantly and conduced to the promotion of Turkey to those who haven't known Turkey in Europe. I would like to express my thanks on this occasion."

    Sekib Aydagic, Chairman of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency Executive Board and Hüsamettin Kavi, Chairman of Advisory Board thanked Bagis for his supports to the project since the very beginning.
