OUR PEOPLE WILL EVALUATE US ON JUNE, 12

Making a statement on Bugün TV, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis answered the questions concerning the agenda.

Stating that "Our people will give the real grade on the 12th of June" about the grading of Chairman of Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıcdaroğlu to the government, Bagis continued as follows: "Our people are very good at giving grades. Thanks God we have democracy, our people give the price or the punishment at the ballot boxes noticeably. The ballot boxes are grading days, the politicians take their grades from the citizens."

Bagis said the followings about the words of vice chairman of Republican People's Party Suheyl Batum concerning the army: "The army is our common ground; we should protect our army whose duty is to defend our country."

Bagis said "Chairman of Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıcdaroğlu has to make a list and determine who can make comments on what and who is responsible of which topic" and added that Süheyl Batum revealed the things under his conscious.

Pointing out that he sent annotations to Kılıçdaroğlu about the EU process, Bagis stated "We cannot take any concrete suggestion concerning EU process from CHP up to now."

Bagis said the following about the EU process:

"Today Turkey has the most promising economy, the strongest army, one of the youngest populations, neighbor of the most important energy sources. As the chief negotiator of Turkey, we cannot accept shoving of such a strategic country by some EU member states. Naturally, we put into words the honor, the pride and national senilities of 72 million people that we represent."

Upon question of the announcer about the broad repercussion in EU of the discussions about TV serial, the monument debates and the buzz bylaws, Bagis replied that some anti Turkey members of parliaments tried to use them against Turkey by rearing. Stating that people are allowed to consume alcohol how much they want, but the youth should be protected against alcohol, Bagis said "We have been in charge for 8 years. Have we interfered in anyone's life style? Everyone can drink and eat, dress and read any book as they wish. We are such a government that proud of being the leader of individual freedom."
