US AMBASSADOR ROSS WİLSON WELCOMED TO ANKARA
Although the global effect of anti-Americanism did hit the shores of Turkey and became a debate issue, my government was quick to forewarn the public. As evidenced at the lunch hosted by myself as the Chairman of Turkey - USA Interparliamentary Friendship Caucus honoring the newly appointed Ambassador Ross Wilson, over 200 year old ties with our ally have not diminished a bit. I strongly believe that our joint vision of the future lies in the same standpoints of our friendship.
USA, being our first ally to include PKK in her list of terrorist organizations, also supports Turkey's initiative to stop the broadcasting of Roj TV. The FBI and CIA Directors who recently visited Turkey also expressed our mutual efforts in regards to fighting terrorism. In essence, Ambassador Wilson affirmed that Turkey and USA should maintain their cooperative stance against PKK and enhance friendship.
