TRADITIONAL DARULACEZE IFTAR MEAL BY BAGIS'
Egemen Bagis and Beyhan Bagis organised their annual iftar meal at the Darulaceze for the 9th year in a row.
The AK Party MPs Volkan Bozkır, Türkan Dağoğlu, Sevim Savaşer, Darulaceze President Nevzat Bayhan, Kayıhan Osmanoglu 4th generation grandson of Darulaceze founder Sultan II. Abdulhamit, Turkish Armenian Patriarch Aram Atesyan, Syrian Orthodox Church Istanbul Metropolitan Bishop Yusuf Cetin, journalists Sevilay Yukselir, Hakan Celik, Ikbal Gurpinar, Huseyin Kulaoglu, musician Ugur Isilak, actor Safak Sezer and many other guests attended the iftar meal.
Egemen Bagis said the Darulaceze iftar they organise every year is quite meaningful for him and his family. He reminded everyone that Darulaceze was founded by the 2. Abdulhamid and it became a place which embraced every section of the public. Our ancestors also built synagogue and church, not just a mosque at that time.
The clergies of the different faiths’ presence here tonight shows the continuing and developing fraternity ties within our community as in Ottoman period.
Egemen Bagis said: ‘’The independence campaign started in 1923, and it will now become a campaign for our country’s future in August 10th 2014.’’
Mr Bagis asked for the locals support and prayers for the PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the upcoming presidential elections until the August 10th.
Egemen Bagis responded to the questions by the journalists and had photographs taken with the guests, staff, and the residents at the end of the night.
