BAGIS MET WITH YELLSEYEV, UKRAINE'S DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER

Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator met with Konstantin Yellseyev, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister in the Secretariat General for EU Affairs.

Bagis, in his speech, thanked Yellseyev for his visit and he said: "Ukraine is the strategic neighbour of Turkey. Not only the Crimean Turks constitute a bridge between Turkey and Ukraine but also there exists a significant rise in the foreign trade between the two countries. Furthermore both Turkey and Ukraine are located in the transit route of the world's energy sources."

Noting that, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan carried out quite serious works with a view to improving the relations between Ukraine and Turkey, Bagis stated that they were also continuing to carry out those works.

Expressing also his satisfaction to be in Turkey, Konstantin Yellseyev, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that their target was to further increase the strategic partnership between Turkey and Ukraine.
