UETD IS OUR SUPPORTER IN EUROPE

“No one can dare to defame Turkey any more since the UETD will be there standing against them”, said Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, meeting with the members of the Central Executive Board of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) in Ankara.

Minister Bagis said, in his statement addressing UETD members, “You have showed a great performance. You achieved over 70% increase in the voter turnout of the Turkish in Germany during the last elections. This is among the biggest and bravest steps that we have taken so far in terms of exercising our democratic rights”.

Minister Bagis stated that the UETD led the biggest battle against Islamophobia, the discrimination in Europe, which had appeared as a new disease after xenophobia and anti-Semitism.

Describing Europe as an important commercial platform for Turkey, Minister Bagis said that a substantial amount of investments in Turkey and about 90% of the new technologies had come from the EU member states.

Minister Bagis also pointed out that education issues should definitely be focused on and they would collaborate with the UETD notably on pre-school education.
