TURKEY FINALLY FEELS BROTHERHOOD

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said, "Turkey has fully felt brotherhood after years. Our beloved nation won't give a chance to dark goals and their servants. We won't apologize as some people feel disturbed by Turkey's development."

Attending an iftar on the street in Beştelsiz Neighborhood organized by the Municipality of Zeytinburnu, Bagis stated that he was trying to attend iftars on streets and sahur events in 39 districts of Istanbul and said, “I saw many beautiful things in this Ramadan in Istanbul, dear friends. I came across with scenes of brotherhood that give hope for our future and the next generation. I witnessed leaders of different religions sitting on the same table. I witnessed thousands of people reciting bismillah at the same time, slicing the same bread and reaching for the same water. I watched thousands of hands rising to the sky for the same prayers. May God bless everyone that made it possible."

Stating that "someone" was disturbed by the fact that Turkey stood by its brothers in Somalia, Syria and Egypt, Bagis said, "We will consider stopping forbidden for us until establishing brotherhood both in Turkey and in the region."

Bagis also said the following:

We shall not apologize as some people feel disturbed by Turkey’s development. Our way is the way of brotherhood and peace. I have witnessed the picture of unity during my visits for the last one month. I have seen that the solution process is not an idea that came up instantaneously; it is a nostalgia that our public has already adopted. I have seen that the brotherhood between Kurds, Turks, Cherkes, Armenian, and Assyrian is possible. One day they will understand that even the greatest powers of the world cannot destroy the brotherhood in Turkey unless our nation wants it to. No one can divide this country by brotherhood. We even struggle against our enemies with feelings of brotherhood. We said 'we won't receive news about martyrs' with the resolution process. Thank God, have we received any news about martyrs for a long time? Today, thank God, people are going on picnic to those mountains and young people are swimming in the ponds.
