"THE CITIZENS IN THE EAST DON'T PREFER THE ONES EXPLOITING THEIR ETHNIC IDENTITY EITHER, BUT THE ONES SERVING THEM"

Speaking at the meeting held by Metro Group in Antalya where he went with the aim of attending various meetings, making observations, and paying visits, Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, said that Turkey is the only country in Europe which didn't have to invest money in banking sector while the whole world was anxious about the economic crisis.

Stating that the European Union was the most important modernization project of Turkey, Bagis noted that he explained this project and the ongoing negotiations in 10 Chapters to approximately 800 administrators of Metro Group. Bagis also informed the attendants about AK Party's activities in the meeting.

Saying that the opposition parties declared their support for the EU membership target gave him hope, Bagis continued that Turkey got closer to have a constitution parallel to EU standards in the forthcoming period, they expected to build Turkey's bright future of our common interests.

Attending the AK Party election office inauguration in Belek, Bagis delivered a speech to the party members there and said: "Turkey has undergone serious changes through the activities of AK party concerning the EU membership. Foreign observers say that a silent revolution has been taking place in the last 7 years in Turkey. Turkey is rapidly proceeding the target set by Ataturk, the Greatest Leader".

Bagis said serious investments in democracy had been made as well as the activities and services provided within the EU target and he reminded that TRT Ses had started broadcasting in Kurdish meanwhile.

Bagis said:

"My citizens in the east don't prefer those exploiting their ethnic identity anymore, but those constructing roads for their villages, distributing course books to their children free of charge, providing proper health services and treating them as human being. The State's TV channel provides sound information and entertainment programs in the language they understand. No longer do the citizens watch the programs causing a stir and ordering them to close their shops. Turkey is not weakening but getting stronger."

Bagis accompanied by Mevlut Cavusoglu and Sadık Baran, AK Party Antalya Deputies, Menderes Türel, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Orhan Tolunay, Muratpasa Mayor Candidate, visited the tradesmen on Isıklar Road and paid a visit to Antalya Journalists' Association afterwards.

After the visit to the tradesmen, Bagis attended the meeting on "Relations with the European Union". In his speech there, Bagis said that with the AK Part ruling, Turkey had realized its 50-year dream of starting EU negotiations, and that Turkey had become a very important country under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, about whom some people said he had lack of ability of governing even a village.
