WE ARE READY TO WORK FOR THE NEW CONSTITUTION

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: “As the members of Justice and Development Party (AK Party), we are ready to work for the new constitution during the whole summer; moreover, we assume this as an honour in terms of paying our tribute to our nation.”

In the speech he made during his visit to AK Party Kartal District Organization, Bagis made evaluations concerning current issues.

Recalling Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s announcement as the required devotion would be displayed, Bagis said: “As the members of AK Party, we are ready to work for the new constitution during the whole summer; moreover, we assume this as an honour in terms of paying our tribute to our nation. Now, the ball is in the opposition’s court. Our public will distinguish between those who make things difficult and those who are in love with the nation.”

Reminding that the parties reached an agreement on 48 articles, Bagis stated that they wanted to increase this number.

Bagis also said: “If there is an agreement on 48 articles, then let us make them adopted in TGNA swiftly. I dare you. Then it means that we have guaranteed the future of this country together with both the ruling and opposition parties for centuries.”

After his speech, Bagis joined the street iftar dinner in Atalar District and broke his fast with the citizens.

Bagis addressed to the citizens here and said “I am honoured to be with you here in the holy iftar dinner and to share your enthusiasm, your excitement and your table.”

Stating that they shared the abundance, mercy and all the virtue of Ramadan all together, Bagis said “However, there are our brothers who cannot enjoy all these. There are our brothers in Egypt, Syria, Palestine and Arakan (Rakhine) who cannot enjoy this pleasure. We should be grateful for our circumstances and at the same time should not forget to pray for our brothers in this month when our prayers are answered.”

After the iftar dinner, Bagis talked to the citizens for a while.
