THERE ARE SOME CIRCLES THAT ARE ANNOYED BY TURKEY’S DEVELOPMENT
In his speech on the occasion of the opening of Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) Advisory Board Meeting held at Kayseri Chamber of Industry, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated that Turkey was in a period during which the will of the nation was not only in power but also capable.
Minister Bagis said that those who were annoyed of this period, were building scenarios on Turkey through different pretexts, and continued his words as follows:
“In a period that we defeat the terror problem bleeding Turkey dry and being a nuisance to Turkey, that our economic indicators probably reach the most successful level in the history of the Republic, that the inflation rates, interest rates and unemployment rates are the best, that our private sector indicates its readiness for making an investment of 30 billion Euros and paying the rent in the third airport Project of Istanbul, that a French-Japan consortium announces their 20-billion USD investment in Turkey for building a nuclear power plant, that a partnership of Turkish, Italian and Korean companies announces their investment of approximately 11 billion Euros in Turkey through jointly building the third bridge on Bosphorus, series of demonstrations which have started upon the transfer of six trees from a public garden in Istanbul to another one, are high on agenda for the last three weeks.
In fact it is not only Gezi Park and Turkey’s agenda that is being occupied. It is aimed to take Turkey’s future hostage and occupy it. I am not addressing the protesters by my words. It is highly possible that a majority of the protestors are well-intentioned, true-hearted people who participated in these demonstrations for different reasons. However, when we assess what is behind the scenes and consider the impressions we got from the briefings given by some of the intelligence services, it is clear that those ill-intentioned circles who create different games on Turkey, are annoyed by Turkey’s getting richer, more developed, more democratic, more transparent, lay these ambushes and traps, play these games on our country as a manifestation of their desire to fish in troubled waters as before. But we overcome our problems together with our people and in favour of our people through their support, will and prayers. We maintain this understanding whenever we are in trouble up to date. From now on, the source of our power will firstly be God and then our people.”
Within the scope of his visit to Kayseri, Minister Bagis have also paid visits to Governor’s Office in Kayseri, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and AK Party Kayseri Provincial Organization.
