    TURKISH HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT LANGUAGES OF EUROPE

    Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis received international students participating in Turkish Olympics in the Ministry for EU Affairs.


    Welcoming the students from countries including Kosovo, South Africa, Niger, Togo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bagis stated that 5,5 million people speak Turkish in Europe. He also said: “Now, Turkish has become one of the most important languages of Europe. Even if we are not a member of the European Union, the number of people speaking Turkish, which is the language of love, is higher than the populations of many countries in Europe.”

    Bagis said that Turkey had been hosting Turkish Olympics for 11 years. He also declared that this event might be held at different capitals in the works in the future.
