BAGIS VISITED MHP CHAIRMAN DEVLET BAHCELI

In the framework of visits to be made to the chairmen of the political parties on the account of his recent appointment, Minister for EU Affairs, Egemen Bagis made his first visit to MHP (Nationalist Action Party) Chairman, Devlet Bahceli.

In his short statement after the meeting at MHP headquarters, Bagis said that after his assignment as Minister for EU Affairs, he asked, upon instruction of the Prime Minister, for an appointment with the chairmen of the political parties having a group in the Assembly.

Bagis said "We have had our first talks today with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli" and stated that they were welcomed in a very friendly manner and continued his speech with the following words:

"We were hosted in an exemplary manner and they too stressed that EU was a state policy for Turkey. As for me, I expressed that we were always looking forward to hearing their opinions and recommendations and that was our common project, concerning the future of our children and therefore we attached importance to the views of all of the opposition parties."

Emphasizing that Bahceli shared with him his opinion that his appointment was timely and to the purpose, Bagis said "They will continue to give their support in this process also on the issues which we are of the same opinion. I want to thank themselves once again for their hospitality"
