THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL TULIP FESTIVAL
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: “Tulips have always enhanced the natural beauty of Istanbul. It is a matter of honour for me to tell Istanbul in everywhere I go.”
The inauguration of the 8th International Tulip Festival which was organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was held in the Emirgan Park with the participation of Egemen Bagis.
Bagis emphasized that in order to understand the mood of a society, one has to look at to its interests. Bagis said: “Having also dealt with the flowers and gardening in the past, reflects the detailed understanding and tolerance of the Turkish people.”
Explaining the story about the reversed tulip on the fountain of Selimiye Mosque, Bagis said: “Tulips have always enhanced the natural beauty of Istanbul. It is a matter of honour for me to tell Istanbul in everywhere I go. Those who ask me about Istanbul in everywhere I go, started to talk about the tulips in Istanbul and they started to praise them. I see that the tulips enrich the presentation of Istanbul.”
