TURKEY - EU COMMON COMMUNICATION PLATFORM LAUNCHES ON WIN8 PLATFORM
The “Turkey-EU Common Communication Platform (TUROPA)” established by the Ministry for EU Affairs and Microsoft Turkey was launched with the participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and Director General of Microsoft Turkey Tamer Ozmen.
In the speech delivered at Ortaköy office of the Ministry, Egemen Bagis stated that the platform would make the distance between Turkey and the EU insignificant and indicated that they were entering a period where Turkey and the EU would be one click away. Bagis also said, “Thanks to this project, people in Pervari, Siirt; Kızıltepe, Mardin; Bor, Niğde and Terme, Samsun will also be able to reach us. We are disregarding distances, we are challenging the distances. We are also challenging those who want to increase the distance between Turkey and the EU.”
TUROPA will be an information sharing platform of the individuals in the Turkey-EU process. It will be possible to access the application, which will enable the individuals to express their opinions and feelings freely and to ask them for their opinions about the topics to be opened, from computers, tablets and smart phones and to use it in an interactive manner. Beyond being a closed-circuit application, TUROPA is also integrated with applications like Twitter and Facebook and has taken its place for sale in Windows 8 Store.
