    COOPERATION PROTOCOL WITH MACEDONIA IS SIGNED

    Ministry for European Union Affairs and Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs signed a Cooperation Protocol.

    Ministry for European Union Affairs and Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs signed a Cooperation Protocol to enhance mutual cooperation on issues concerning the European Union process. The Cooperation Protocol was signed between Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Teuta Arifi, on November 16, 2012 at Istanbul Office of the Ministry for European Union Affairs.

    In his statement, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis indicated that Macedonia was always a friendly country for Turkey and that they regarded the Macedonian people as the “brother” nation. He added that they attached great importance to Macedonia’s high level dialog with the European Commission.

    In the framework of the Protocol, the Parties aim to share experience and knowledge on the European Union accession process in the areas of financial cooperation, acquis harmonization and administrative capacity through common projects and training programs.
