EGEMEN BAGIS SPEAKS TO THE CITIZENS IN TEKIRDAG

Attending the opening ceremony of the building of municipality of Tekirdag Salgamli, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: “Thanks to the energy of our people from 81 provinces, we say, “Get lost, kid!” to those who try to talk against Turkey. Minister Bagis also added: “This is the way we address the people who are the deputies of the terrorist organization, not of our people.”

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the building of municipality of Tekirdag Salgamli, Minister Bagis stressed that this opening was of great significance, and the fabric of brotherhood and solidarity felt in the realization of the investment made it highly meaningful.

Stating that there were people who felt discomfort because they were here, Minister Bagis criticized the words of the representative of the Main Opposition Party who had said: “What is the Minister doing at this opening ceremony?

Bagis continued as follows:

“This is not the first time I heard such a question. I was the first ever minister to visit Cemisgezek, a district of Tunceli, 2.5 years ago after 38 years A deputy who was the black sheep of the Parliament then said to me: “What are you doing here?” I asked him why he asked this instead of offering a warm welcome. I intended to shake hands with him not for him personally but for my people who had elected him as a deputy. Saying “I can ask,” he refused to shake hands with me. Here is another fuss made by the words “What is the Minister doing at this opening ceremony?” of a deputy who does not befit Tekirdag. Minister Bagis also stated: “I take proud in sharing good feelings with my brother in Salgamli.”

Indicating that they realized with whom CHP collaborated, Minister Bagis continued his speech as follows:

“A deputy of CHP caused a stir saying ‘I was kidnapped and taken to the mountains. “ On the following day, with his words as “They are very kind people and treated me very well,” he intended to propagate the terrorist organization. Some people embrace betrayers, some others start praising them after being kidnapped. Deputies of AK Party are the individuals of the society. When our Prime Minister declared this assignment to me, I was instructed as: “Mr. Bagis, you will be representing 75 million people in Europe. Never be obstinate, but always take a dignified stance!” Therefore, thanks to the energy of our people from 81 provinces, we say, “Get lost, kid!” to those who try to talk against Turkey. This is the way we address people who are the deputies of the terrorist organization, not of our people.”

Pointing out that they were working hard to solve all the problems of Turkey, Minister Bagis added: “We will lend a hand to not only people of our country, but also to people who see Turkey as a beacon light of hope.”

Minister Bagis said in his speech during his visit to AK Party provincial organization in Tekirdag: “A political party in Turkey which has the word “peace” in the name of its party claims that they are the representatives of our Kurdish brothers, but they are telling a lie. They cannot represent Kurdish people. Today AK Party, CHP, and MHP have more deputies with Kurdish origin than they do. No political party should do politics by exploiting people’s ethnic origins.”
