AK Party declared a statement about the capture of the alleged war criminal Radovan Karadzic in Serbia by Serbian security forces.
In the statement it is underlined that Turkish public opinion was pleased to hear that after his 13 years escape from the authorities, war criminal Radovan Karadzic was caught in Serbia. "The capture of Radovan Karadzic and to bring him to trial will give the people the feeling of justice and trust as well as contribute decreasing the pains that have been experienced in former Yugoslavia."
AK Parti Vice Chairman in Charge of Foreign Affairs and Deputy of Istanbul Egemen Bagis said that this is a historical step for Serbia and it will be a milestone for the unification of Serbia with the rest of the world. Bagis continued, "the arrest of Karadzic will also contribute to overcoming the instability of the Balkans and it is a real opportunity to improve the relations of the countries in the Balkans that have recently arisen."
