BAGIS: "BAYKAL GOT SLIGHTLY PINK IN THE FACE, BUT DIDN'T ENTIRELY BLUSH."
The Vice-President of AK Party Egemen Bagis said ‘Mr. Baykal did not apologize while he was giving his speech concerning on the phone-call of General Secretary, despite the clear evidences. We saw Mr. Baykal get slightly pink in the face, but didn't entirely blush.'
Egemen Bagıs evaluated the speech of CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal which was given in TBMM caucus meeting. Bagis stated
‘Today, we listened the speech of CHP President Deniz Baykal, unchangeable leader of the party, for which all over Turkey had expectations for apology. However, the leader of the main opposition party did not surprised us and could not indicate the virtue of accepting the mistake. Mr. Baykal did not apologize while he was giving his speech concerning on the phone-call of General Secretary, despite the clear evidences. . We saw Baykal get slightly pink in the face, but didn't entirely blush.'
Mr. Baykal actually surprised us in his speech about the problems faced by minorities living in Western Thrace. We are happy for that. Noticing the problems of minorities living in Western Thrace by a person who has taken place in Turkish politics for many years and a former deputy Prime Minister is pleasing even though it is too late.
However, it is necessary to remind Mr. Baykal that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the first Turkish Prime Minister in history which was welcomed by Turkish minorities living there with tears. At the same time, the first Turkish Foreign Minister who visited here is also our Foreign Affairs Minister. If Mr. Baykal visited Western Thrace, he would see that AK Party and Prime Minister Recep tayyip Erdoğan are considered as a hope for the solution of the problems of the Turkish people living there.
"THEY WILL WALK AROUND LIKE MARTIANS"
Bagis mentioned that the Chairman of CHP (Republican People's Party) Deniz Baykal did nothing for the Western Thrace, and added that he also did nothing but spectating the services done by AK Party even in his hometown Izmir.
Bagis also considered the news about offices that CHP is opening abroad. He said: "As we learned from the press, CHP decided to open offices abroad. We wish to mention something: the liberal environment of the capital cities of both the USA and the EU countries will be very tough and sharp for the CHP offices. This environment can stroke CHP. What will CHP say in Brussels and Washington? They will say, "Democracy is not suitable for canaille...Turkey has specific conditions… We have some sensitivities…. Or, the election results are meaningless".
They will complain about AK Party and will say that there are believers in AKP, we reject them. To whom do they complain? They will complain to Whitehouse, to U.S. Congress, to European politicians who propose the notions of ‘Religion and God' everyday for about 20-30 times. The politicians of CHP will take place among Europeans and Americans who have nothing to do with religion and god. There are many institutions throughout the World which open offices in the capital of USA, but there never existed an institution which was opened in order to eliminate the freedoms. CHP is the first one which will do this. Brussels Office of CHP is another comedy. CHP never meets with European officials. In fact it fights with them. Then, what will it do in Brussels? The warnings are addressed to CHP by Europe. Therefore, there is no need for CHP to go to Brussels. Wherever CHP goes, EU finds it.
In fact, it would be beneficial to have an office in Brussels. Perhaps they could see the democratic perception of Europe close at hand and would learn it. Moreover, there is NATO in Brussels. Perhaps they could learn respect for democracy with the aid of NATO.
If CHP will copy anything, it would be better to copy ‘good' sides of Europe and America, because there cannot be a party which loses its belief to democracy neither in America nor in Europe.
