TURKEY AND BRUNEI LIFT VISA REQUIREMENTS

President Abdullah Gül welcomed Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam with an official ceremony. 

The speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek, the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis  and the Minister of National Defence Ismet Yilmaz attended the ceremony to welcome the Sultan of Brunei.

The signature ceremony was realised after the interdelegational talks which were held at Cankaya Presidential Palace. The agreements were signed between the two countries on “Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation” and “Lifting of the Visa Requirements” and a decision towards opening of the permanent representative offices in the capitals of both countries was also taken. Minister Bagis participated in the signature ceremony as the representative of Turkey.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis accompanied the Brunei Sultan during his first visit to Turkey.
