BLACK-SEA BASIN CBC PROGRAM GRANT BENEFICIARIES TRAINING
The project presentation and training event of the grant beneficiaries which was organized under the first call for proposals of the ENPI Black Sea Basin Cross Border Cooperation Program to which Ministry for EU Affairs is associated as the National Authority was held in Ortakoy Offıce, Istanbul with the participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis.
In his speech, Minister Bagis pointed out that ENPI Black Sea Basin Cross Border Cooperation Program is of great importance despite its limited budget as it helps strengthening the cooperation between non-governmental organizations and local authorities. Bagis stated that ongoing collaboration process would also contribute to develop constructive dialogue and good relationship at the Black Sea Basin.
Bagis mentioned the EU funds in his speech and said that Turkey received half of the EU funds allocated to candidate and potential candidate countries. Bagis reminded that 4 million Euros was allocated to Van within 4 days after the earthquake and that nearly 1200 families were moved into shelters.
The event, in which Turkish beneficiaries made presentations related to the ongoing 9 projects, once again marked decisiveness of the Ministry and its continuous support to the nine projects implemented under the Program that is another strong indication of Turkey’s relentless longing for EU bid and firm will to develop good neighborly relations with the countries in the region.
