BAGIS MEETS GUIDO WESTERWELLE

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis met with Guido Westerwelle, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany at a working dinner.

During the dinner in the Feriye Restaurant in Ortakoy, some current issues such as Turkey’s EU accession period and Turkey 2011 Progress Report were addressed.

Emphasizing that Turkey’s negotiation process with the EU should continue, Westerwelle said that they believed the problems could definitely be solved, the next chapter would be the competition policy and the EU should open the negotiations for this chapter. He also stated that all the relevant issues should be dealt with within the framework of the negotiations and the accession process should definitely continue.
