EGEMEN BAGIS WILL APPEAR AS A GUEST OF TV SITCOM EUROPE EUROPE

Minister For EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, who will appear as a guest on a TV serial "Europe Europe", will announce Turkey's EU membership.

Minister Bagis who will perform with Kadir Copdemir, Ipek Tuzcuoglu and Tarık Unluoglu, will tell to the Turkish citizens what kind of a future was waiting them after the EU membership.

Minister Bagis told with these words how he accepted the proposal to act in the serial:

"Turkey's EU accession process is our impetus to become democratic, transparent and prosperous country. Turkey's EU accession process is a reform processes which will make Turkey attain the highest democratic standards. For this reason we believe that the process is more important than the result. With this understanding, within the framework of the instructions of our Prime Minister, we are trying to support each step which will enhance the reform process and which will make this process a common ground for Turkish citizens. This is the most important priority I set for my Ministry."

TV sitcom "Europe Europe" is an important platform which narrates the EU process in a funny and sympathetic way and also includes our people into this process. They asked me and I said "yes" without hesitation.

This also has a symbolic value for us. As you know 18 chapters are blocked in our EU accession process due to unfair political obstacles. We, as Turkey, are carrying out own agenda as if we are going to be an EU member tomorrow. We will demonstrate once again to the European Union that Turkey is capable of writing and carrying out her own script."
