EVERYONE HAS A SEAT AT OUR TABLE

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated that everyone had a place at the table and said: 'Turkey is the antidote of the mentality dragging EU into poverty'.

Bagis delivered a speech at the iftar dinner he hosted at the Ministry for EU Affairs for the members of the Diplomacy Reporters Association and he said: 'Heavy workload of the diplomacy reporters in Turkey proves that Turkey has an active diplomacy and is in the right way'. He also added: 'As we did in diplomacy, we have terminated being snob among reporters'. Bagis stated that we were in a period observing the active diplomacy of Turkey and reflecting this into broadcasts and publications.

Stating that everyone had a place at the table of Turkey Bagis added that in fact, EU was a union based on this ideal and in this union, everyone could have a place at the table. Bagis said: 'Unfortunately, today, the meals in the EU table are poisoned with the spices of racism and bias and there are circles who want to spread the mentality that only the ones desiring to taste this poison can sit at this table. Turkey is the antidote of the mentality dragging EU into poverty.'

Mentioning also the riot in England, Bagis declared that the situation was worrisome. He added: 'Recent events proved the importance of Turkey's EU membership. Turkey, with the youngest and most dynamic population and the strongest military force of Europe is the symbol of stability and peace.'
