    COLLEGE OF EUROPE MASTER'S PROGRAMME CONTRIBUTES TO TRAINING TURKISH EUROCRATS

    Secretariat General for EU Affairs (EUSG), with support from the private sector will provide at least 15 scholarships for the 2011-2012 Academic Year to the College of Europe Master's Programme which contributes to the training of qualified EU experts and Turkish Eurocrats of the future.

    In his statement on the issue, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated that this cooperation initiated by the private sector and College of Europe was an important step for ensuring that there would also be Turks among the future European Union leaders and that this scholarship programme was one of the most important investments made in the future of European Turkey.

    Indicating that qualified EU experts who would contribute to Turkey's EU process, Turkish Eurocrats of the future and businessmen having the vision of the EU would be trained thanks to the programme, Minister for EU Affairs Bagis noted that the number of students with scholarships sent to College of Europe was increasing each year.

    The scholars qualifying for scholarships for the 2011-2012 Academic Year will be announced to the public with a press conference to be held on Wednesday 22 June 2011 at the Ortakoy Office of the Secretariat General for EU Affairs.
