CONSTITUTION IS THE PRIORITY IN THE PARLIAMENT

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated that the first issue to be addressed in the new period is the new Constitution.

Minister Bagis paid a visit to AK Party Provincial Organization in Istanbul 1st electoral district from where he was elected, in order to express his gratitude and said:

"Governing the country becoming the 10th most powerful country in the world in 2023, with the Constitution of 1982 is incomprehensible. It is high time to adopt a new and civilian Constitution. It is time for a Constitution that embraces all our citizens, where no citizen feels himself to be cast as the "other". I hope we will realize our work on this subject with the ruling party and opposition. The Constitution of 1982 conforms to the democracy and law of 1982. Turkey needs a new and civilian Constitution. Otherwise these problems will exhaust us. I believe that in this country, we will successfully adopt a new Constitution. If there is a need to make a change in the democracy, in the law, in the Constitution, the Parliament is the place to discuss and make it."

Bagis said "We will continue the brotherhood in our way that we have begun with the national unity and solidarity. We will never allow one person to look another with negative intent. . The democracy does not include threats. The law does not succumb to the pressure." He also indicated that the Parliament was the place to discuss all problems.
