Reminding that May 19 was the day when first step towards the foundation of the Turkish Republic was taken, Minister Bagis noted these:

"We will continue following 'Let's walk on together friends' motto that exists in the words of the Youth March, which is the symbol of May 19, and we will continue realizing modernization programmes which were launched by Ataturk. We will move forward with the motto 'no rest on the way to the European Union, keep going'.

Ataturk entrusted the Turkish Republic to the Turkish youth and we perceive the European Union accession process, which is the most important modernization project after the proclamation of Turkish Republic, as the project of young people and we rely on them. As the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, we see the bright future of Turkey in the brilliant faces and eyes of our young people."

Egemen Bagis stated that the young people, with their increasing education levels, developing visions and effectiveness in politics, were the most important guarantee for the future of Turkey. Bagis said that with the confidence they felt towards them, they had determined their targets for 2023 and he also noted that with that confidence, they had shaped a Turkey which attained EU standards. Bagis said: "As the youngest Minister of the cabinet, I would like to extend my good wishes to Turkish citizens on this important day and would like to commemorate Ataturk and his fellow soldiers with gratitude."
