BAGIS PAYS A VISIT TO MACEDONIA

Paying an official visit to Macedonia, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis held talks in the capital Skopje.

Meeting with the Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister for EU Affairs Dr. Vasko Naumovski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Milososki, Bagis stated that they evaluated the cooperation opportunities between Turkey and Macedonia throughout the EU integration process.

Egemen Bagis mentioned the EU- Turkey relations and said that Turkey had waited for 45 years to become a candidate country. Stating that Macedonia had a special importance for Turkey, Bagis said: "We are ready to share our experience in the EU integration process with Macedonia with an open hand".

Egemen Bagis also had talks with Kenan Hasip, the Macedonian Co-chair of Turkish-Macedonian Parliamentary Friendship Group and Peter Poparsov, the Head of the Macedonian Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs.

Giving a conference to the officers from the relevant public institutions on integration with the EU in the Prime Ministry Building of Macedonia, Bagis explained the history of the EU- Turkey relations and the experience of Turkey in this respect.
