TURKISH CYPRIOTS ARE SATISFIED WITH TURKEY'S CYPRUS POLICY

Huseyin Ozgurgun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of TRNC, met with Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs.

Delivering a speech after the meeting, Egemen Bagis noted that together with Ozgurgun they had participated in the opening of the meeting organized by Justice and Development Party's Youth Branch.

Stating that they had always considered the Cyprus issue as a national case, Bagis noted that together with Ozgurgun, they had evaluated the relations between the two countries and also evaluated European Parliament's Turkey Report.

Bagis said: "It is our common opinion that the report has nothing to do with the realities, on the contrary, it is a report which came up as a result of a deal among different political groups."

Bagis said: "A group, in order to make others accept their proposals, supports the proposal of another group without even looking at its content." Bagis stated that the report had turned out to be a document that served to the purposes of some politicians.

Ozgurgun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of TRNC, stated that Bagis's words 'We cannot give up Cyprus for the EU' were welcomed by TRNC and Turkish Cypriots.
