TURKISH CINEMA AND TURKISH CULTURE ARE REPRESENTED ALL OVER THE WORLD
Ferzan Ozpetek, the director of the movie "Loose Cannons" which was awarded the "Golden Wings" public award in 16th London Turkish Film Festival, took the award from the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis at a reception held in Feriye Restaurant in Ortakoy.
In his speech he made at the reception Bagis indicated that for him it was a day dedicated to ambassadors because he met with ambassadors from all the regions of the world and in the evening he was with another representative of Turkey, Ferzan Ozpetek.
Bagis said: "Ozpetek is a real representative of Turkey. He is a kind of person who is just like an ambassador works for the publicity of Turkey and makes contributions to the rising values of the country. I am happy to attend such an award ceremony and feel this excitement."
Reminding that Turkey was carrying out a difficult process, Bagis continued as follows: "We are trying to carry on Turkey's negotiations with the EU. There are still minds in Europe questioning the Europeanness of Turkey. There are still people who cannot get rid of the prejudices and demolish the walls surrounding their minds. Ferzan Ozpetek is one of the great heroes who demolish those walls with sledgehammers. As in the past, today he is one of the successful artists of Turkey and he will be one of the most important representatives of the European culture in the future."
