EVERYBODY IS HAPPY WITH THE REFERANDUM RESULT, THIS IS A TURNING POINT

Following the referendum, meeting 13 journalists from the European Union countries, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: "Everybody is happy with the Referandum result, this is a turning point for Turkey".
Bagis adjourned the Cabinet meeting for a while and held a press conference in the Prime Ministry Building with the journalists from France, Germany, Denmark, Luxemburg, Greece and Austria. Stating that Turkish people expected them to take several actions on democracy and that they acted accordingly, Bagis said: "Anyone who analyzes Turkey will find out that this Constitution is a great reform package. This is a giant step for the development of Turkish democracy and for the relations with the EU.
As a reply for the question about the scope of the changes in the relations with the EU, Egemen Bagis said: "Until now, Turkey has been a country which negotiates for being a candidate. As of yesterday, Turkey has turned into a stronger negotiator".
Underlying that Turkey's only goal was to have a "full membership" status, Bagis remarked that the goal had never been changed.
