TURKISH- GREEK RELATIONS ARE IN A GENTLEMANLY MANNER

In his statement to the New York Times Newspaper, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said that Turkish-Greek relations were in a "gentlemanly manner" not only in sports but in the diplomacy, as well.

In the article published on the New York Times and called as "On the Court, Similar Cultures Clash Yet Again", Bagis commented about the basketball match between Turkey and Greece which was held in Ankara as part of 2010 FIBA World Championship and said "This is not about rivalry, but this an art of cohabitation".

Bagis also said: "If you look back, in the last seven, eight years, we can see that Turkey has been immensely successful in tearing down its taboos and impediments. That's why we are more flexible and more actively seeking reconciliation".
