ASHTON AND FULE VISIT ISTANBUL FOR TURKEY-EU MINISTERIAL POLITICAL DIALOGUE

Turkey-EU Political Dialogue Meeting at the ministerial level was held at Istanbul's Cıragan Palace with the participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Davutoglu.

In the meeting where Turkey-EU relations were addressed comprehensively, regional and international issues were discussed and views were exchanged about how cooperation on these issues would be advanced. In accordance with the change in the EU institutional functioning as a result of the Lisbon Treaty having gone into effect, the Turkey-EU Political Dialogue Meeting at the ministerial level has replaced the Turkey-EU Troika meetings.

The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Stefan Fule and European Council and Commission officials also attended the meeting.
