MEMBERS OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT CONDEMN ISRAEL
Members of the European Parliament (EP) who were informed by Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis about Israel's attack on the ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza strongly supported Turkey's stance and condemned Israel.
Having being invited by EU side of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for an exchange of views on attack by Israel, Bagis stated in his speech he delivered that ‘they would give a European response' to bloody attack on ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza that took place in international waters by Israel which took no notice of international law.
Stating that "Two wrongs don't make a right" and adding that Turkey should not be expected to wage a war against Israel, Bagis stressed that the problem was not between two countries, but it was between Israel and the whole world and that international law concerned everyone.
In the meeting which many parliamentarians outside the JPC also attended, all EP members but one parliamentarian expressed their support for Bagis who asked EP to condemn Israeli attack and give support for an impartial and independent probe.
