BAGIS ACCOMPANIED PRIME MINISTER ERDOGAN IN HIS VISIT TO ATHENS
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis was among the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his visit to Athens.
During his official contacts, Prime Minister Erdogan was accompanied by a delegation which consisted of, besides Minister for EU Affairs Bagis, State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, State Minister Zafer Caglayan, Minister of Interior Besir Atalay, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of National Education Nimet Cubukcu, Minister of Transport Binali Yildirim, Minister of Environment and Forestry Veysel Eroglu, Minister of Tourism and Culture Ertugrul Gunay and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz.
Indicating that this visit had a historic importance in terms of Turkish-Greek relations, Prime Minister Erdogan stated that 21 agreements and cooperation protocols signed with Greece were the beginning of a new term between the two countries.
Within the scope of his contacts in Athens, meeting the President of Greece Karolos Papulyas, Prime Minister Yorgo Papandreu, the Speaker of the Greek Assembly Filippos Pecalnikos and the leader of the main opposition New Democracy Party Andonis Samaras, Prime Minister Erdogan also attended High-Level Cooperation Council Meeting and Business Forum.
Prime Minister Erdogan also met the representatives of the Turkish community which included two deputies, who are of Turkish origin, at Hilton hotel within the scope of his contacts in Athens.
