BAGIS MEETS WITH CROATIAN FOREIGN MINISTER JANDROKOVIC

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis met with Croatia's Foreign Affairs & European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic in a meeting held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Industry and Commerce Commission Hall.

In the meeting, the EU negotiation processes of both countries were discussed and the ongoing meetings between Turkey, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina were addressed.

In the meeting the importance of accelerating the EU negotiations was stressed and a consensus was reached that bilateral political problems shouldn't pose an obstacle to the negotiation process.

Bagis told the guest minister that messages towards domestic politics decreased the enthusiasm for the EU in Turkey in the accession process. The two ministers stated that they agreed on the issue that the EU needed enlargement and candidate countries.
