I PRESUME THAT NECESSARY SENSITIVITY WILL BE SHOWN IN ORDER NOT TO PROCEED WITH THE RESOLUTION
Receiving American-Turkish Council President James H. Holmes in his office at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said, "I presume that our USA allies will show necessary sensitivity in order not to proceed with the resolution."
Bagis noted that the Council led by Holmes, along with other Turkish-American associations made a great effort to prevent adoption of the draft resolution on Armenian allegations which was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs last week.
Receiving the president of the American-Turkish Council and former U.S. ambassador James Holmes at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, Bagis stated that Holmes played an important role in encouraging Turkish firms in America and American firms in Turkey to make contributions to Turkish-American relations and he was pleased to host him.
Answering the question of the journalists regarding Biometric Passports, Minister for EU Affairs Bagis said that the statement on this issue would be made by the Ministry of Interior and preparations were underway and that as noted by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his statement he delivered following the Reform Monitoring Group Meeting, all the citizens would start to get these passports as of June 1.
