EURONEWS BROADCASTS IN TURKISH

Attending the ceremony held at Dolmabahce Palace Prime Ministry Office for Euronews' Turkish broadcasting, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said TRT-Euronews partnership would better explain Turkey to the EU and the EU to Turkey.

Bagis attended the broadcast held after the ceremony and stated that the communication strategy prepared to better explain Turkey in Europe and Europe in Turkey fitted with the channel's strategy.

Minister Bagis said "This will provide for our own nationals, citizens living there to have an intimate connection with TRT and thus with Turkey. It will also provide for 5.5 million Turkish nationals and citizens living in Europe to be natural members of our negotiation committee."

Reminding that AK Party Antalya Deputy Mevlut Cavusoglu was elected as the President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe before Turkey's EU accession, Bagis said the following:

"Sertap Erener won the Eurovision song contest. Hadise, a Turkish girl born in Belgium, represented Turkey in Europe. There are many Turkish doctors curing people in many regions of Europe. There are Turkish journalists, and Turkish professors. . From now on we have a channel to broadcast such success stories.

Through TRT-Euronews partnership, the largest news channel in Europe and even in the world started to broadcast in Turkish, proving that Turkish is one of the European languages and that Turkey is a natural member of the EU. The European culture and Turkish culture is so closely intertwined that our future will also be together as was our past, no matter whether the Europeans approve it or not. The TRT-Euronews partnership will better explain both Turkey to Europe and Europe to Turkey."
