FINANCIAL COOPERATION COORDINATION BOARD WILL ENSURE MORE EFFECTIVE USE OF EU FUNDS
Financial Cooperation Coordination Board Meeting was held at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, under the presidency of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and with the participation of high level representatives from member institutions of the board.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, Bagis stated that this board was set up with a new circular issued by the Prime Ministry in December with the purpose of better use of EU funds in Turkey and contributing to the full membership process.
Bagis said that they would monitor the process of use of EU funds with a view to meeting needs in different parts of Turkey and indicated that the total amount which the board would discuss would be around 4 billion euros.
Pointing out the importance of decisions which would be taken by the board in order for EU funds to be used more effectively and for Turkey to be more "transparent, democratic and peaceful, Bagis noted that EU funds would satisfy the needs of Turkey in many areas.
Indicating that the financial assistance acquired would support the development of Turkey by means of increasing its capacity in line with the EU legislation, Bagis said that owing to the EU funds an EU process which could be felt in every corner of Anatolia had been achieved.
Stating that the political power would support the decisions of the Committee, Bagis said: "Nobody should doubt about the determination of our government in that respect."
