"VOCATIONAL TRAINING WILL HAVE YOUNG POPULATION TAKE ON ROLES IN OUR COUNTRY'S DEVELOPMENT"
The closing meeting of the "European Union Golden Bracelet Vocational Technical Training" project was held at Rixos Hotel in Ankara with the attendance of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis.
In his speech at the meeting, Bagis stated that Turkey had always been proud of its young population and added that this population had to be transformed into "influence" on a global scale so that the country would be able to develop.
Bagis noted that Turkey took major steps forward in the area of development and that the rate of vocational training in Europe was currently 60 percent and said that even if Turkey had raised this rate from 28 percent to 44 percent in seven years, it was not sufficient.
Indicating that it was vocational training that would enable the young and dynamic population to assume roles in the development of the country, Bagis stated that today vocational training was perceived to be an ideological settling of scores and added that those who block the system had to think once more and that more young people had to be furnished with vocational training opportunity.
