EUSG AND MFA MEET AT THE COORDINATION MEETING
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis who met Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu in the coordination meeting indicated that there were important issues on the agenda of Turkey.
Noting that the opening of the environment chapter in the negotiations was one of the most significant indicators for Turkey's determination towards the EU, Bagis pointed out that it was important that all institutions work together in order to pass the laws relating to the EU in the TGNA as soon as possible and to take steps to address the issue of visa required by the EU from Turkish citizens.
In the coordination meeting, the officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the new executive staff of EUSG. They exchanged views on the Spanish Presidency and the year 2010 and the strategies were reviewed.
Pointing out the importance of the institutionalization of EUSG, Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the conduct of the relations with EU by an institutionalized structure was crucial. He emphasized that there was a close cooperation between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EUSG.
