MINISTER FOR EU AFFAIRS BAGIS MET WITH CZECH FOREIGN MINISTER KOHOUT

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis met with Jan Kohout, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in the Secretariat General for EU Affairs.

In the meeting during which EU membership process was discussed, Bagis indicated that Turkey moved forward rapidly in the negotiation process and stated that Turkey was determined to fulfill the opening and closing criteria of the remaining chapters through the reforms it would introduce.

Pointing out that they would continue to introduce reforms in line with the National Programme for the Adoption of the Acquis which was published at the beginning of this year, Bagis emphasized that Turkey's EU accession process could achieve its target ‘as long as both sides abode by their obligations'.
