BONO CONCERT TO TAKE PLACE WHERE EAST MEETS WEST
When Bono, the worldwide famous lead singer of the U2 music band said he wanted to visit Turkey, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said "you can give a concert at our Bosphorus Bridge that unites the East with the West if you come to Istanbul"
During the ceremony, well-known and influential US organization Appeal of Conscience Foundation, awarded Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent with their annual award. Bagis attended the ceremony on behalf of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and came together with Bono afterwards.
Starting initiatives and drawing attention to problematic regions in the international arena, Bono, whom even the world leaders line up to become acquainted with, said "Turkey is one of the countries that impresses me most in the recent years. Your country is an intersection point for me. It is a bridge connecting the East to the West as well as the cultures."
Bono said that from then on a concert in Istanbul would mean much more to him.
